Carrying the coffin at the funeral is a real privilege; careful consideration should be taken in deciding who should provide this special role.

Our bearers will be there to carry the coffin,
however, family and friends may wish to perform this role instead.
when asked, most people feel honoured to participate.

Traditionally gents would always carry the coffin, however we do like the lady’s to join in and participate too

The task of being a bearer can feel daunting to some people, especially if they have never performed this role before,
 please dont worry,
we will give advice, direction and provide reassurance and confidence
to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible on the day

For those who may not be physically able to carry the coffin but really want to be involved, then there is the option of using a wheel bier.
A wheel bier is a stand that a coffin rests on
which has wheels to enable easy manoeuvrability
Walking by the side of the bier and holding on to the handles of the coffin,
the coffin will simply glide alongside you on the wheel bier
This is also a suitable way for any children that want to be able to perform the role of being a bearer and be involved with this very special part of the service

Escorting your loved one on their last journey can keep the funeral intimate
and close to those who love them.
It will undoubtedly be very rewarding and provide you
with a great amount of comfort
